Backflow Testing & Repair Services

What is the reason for Backflow testing?
Backflow testing is necessary to keep your drinking water safe and to keep the community's water supply safe. Kleker Plumbing schedules backflow testing, repair, and installation services to meet your schedule in the East Bay communities of Oakland, Alameda, Hayward, San Leandro, Berkeley, Piedmont, and Rockridge. We will take the time to explain to you how to reduce the risk of inadvertently contaminating your private or the public water supply.
Why do I need my backflow assessed?
Just like the parts in any complex system, backflow assemblies and devices have parts that can break down and wear out causing possible issues where contaminated water re-enters the public water system. By having the backflow tested annually, you will help to ensure the drinking water supplied to your home remains safe. Because backflow assembly parts can break down and wear out, the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) enforces these policies by the county to help ensure the safety of our drinking water.
Are your backflow testers certified?
Kleker Plumbing has certified backflow assembly testers on staff, who have attended a rigorous training program and are certified by the County of Alameda to inspect and test all backflow assemblies and devices.
What is 'Backflow'?
Backflow is the undesirable reversal of flow in a potable (drinking) water distribution system, as a result of backsiphonage or back pressure.
What is back pressure?
Back pressure is any condition that could create pressure in the non-potable piping system greater than in the potable water system. Pressure caused by gravity due to elevation differences is an example.
What is 'back siphonage'?
Back siponage is a form of backflow due to a negative or sub-atmospheric pressure within a potable water system.
